Research Analyst/Scientific Writer
National trade association based in Rockville, Maryland has an opening for an expericned Research Analyst. This position reports to the Director of Loss Prevention and Research. As a key member of the Research Department, this position will specialize in research endeavors pertaining to medical professional liability claims and healthcare risk management. Responsibilities include the design of studies; preparation of standard and specialized reports; articles and publications that pertain to medical professional liability claims, risk management and physician education
initiatives. Candidate will also be working with medical professionals and groups who are interested in research initiatives in medical professional liability, and the creative development of new research materials to promote the association's educational programs.
Requirements: A master's degree with experience in research design and knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Association Services Coordinator
National trade association based in Rockville, Maryland has an opening for an Association Services Coordinator. Under supervision of the Director of Administration, provides primary administrative support to Association Services departments and secondary support to other Association functions. Supports departments by maintaining and updating the Association Management System, including data entry, as well as PIAA mailing and committee list maintenance, invoicing, and generating reports. Provides telephone, email or correspondence response to members' requests and assists
with and resolution of inquiries received from the public. Coordinates outgoing member correspondence and assists with the timely completion of annual dues billings, annual collection of data for member directory and for database updates, and related projects. As a back up, performs reception tasks, including handling switchboard/incoming telephone calls, and greeting visitors. Assists with special projects in support of meetings, membership and communications departments.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years related experience; preferably 3+ years administrative, membership, or customer service experience. Proficiency with MS Office applications. Experience with an association management system required, iMIS experience strongly preferred. Solid understanding of office operations and principles of sound administrative procedures and practices. Excellent organizational and time management skills, including ability to multi-task and a strong attention to detail. Strong
communications skills, both written and oral, and ability to analyze information and produce work products in a consistent, efficient and timely manner. Ability to work effectively independently and part of the Association's administrative team, and with other members of Association staff as required in the conduct of various related activities.
